Community Bikes and Hikes

Get Outdoors with JC Parks Community Hikes and Bike Rides

Looking for a fun way to enjoy the fresh air, get moving, and connect with your community? Jefferson City Parks offers Community Hikes and Bike Rides throughout the year—perfect for families, friends, and anyone who loves exploring the outdoors.

Community Hikes

Our Community Hikes are hosted with the Jefferson City Trail Users, offering family-friendly adventures on a variety of trails. Dogs are welcome, but must remain on-leash. Simply dress for the weather, bring water, and be ready to explore! Announcements will be made in advance if inclement weather affects a hike.

From easy strolls along greenways to more rugged forest trails, hikes range from short loops to longer routes. Many are suitable for all ages, and some are even perfect for evening walks, giving you a chance to enjoy a summer sunset or the crisp colors of fall.

Stay connected with other trail users, share tips, and hear about upcoming hikes by joining the Jefferson City Trail Users group here.

Community Bike Rides

Prefer two wheels? Join our Community Bike Rides, a laid-back way to explore the city on your bike. These rides are free and designed for newer or non-competitive cyclists. Led by certified League Cycling Instructors, routes often include fun destinations like pizza stops or ice cream treats at the end.

Whether you want a daytime ride, a casual evening spin, or a way to enjoy a summer sunset on your bike, these rides are a great way to meet others and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace.

Why Join?

Community Hikes and Bike Rides aren’t just about exercise—they’re about connection, adventure, and discovering new ways to enjoy Jefferson City’s trails and parks. Bring your friends, family, or even your furry companions, and experience the outdoors together.

Pro tip: Always dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and let your sense of adventure lead the way!
