Creating Connections

The Lewis and Clark Trailhead Plaza was dedicated in June 2008 and will serve as a center for future connections to the Jefferson City Greenway System and Katy Trail State Park.

The monument stands on Missouri State Capitol grounds at the corner of Capitol Avenue and Jefferson Street.

The Monument

The Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery monument, sculpted by Sabra Tull Meyer, is a the five-figure monument commemorating the journey of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark through Missouri.

The monument sits among large limestone bluff walls, waterfalls, landscaping and interpretive signage.
