Learn-to-Play Hockey

The Learn-to-Play Hockey Program is a youth program co-sponsored by Mid-Missouri Tigers Hockey and JC Parks.

Mid-Mo Tiger’s coaches will be teaching the classes, but registration will still go through JC Parks as always.

Designed to improve hockey skills of children ages 5-12. Class length is 1 hour of on-ice practice. 

Skaters must have established basic skating skills. Intro to Hockey Skating and Learn to Skate classes before entering Learn to Play is strongly recommended.

Learn-to-Play Hockey is an introduction to the sport which teaches the basic fundamentals of hockey, preparing athletes for competitive play. Basic skating skills are required before registration for Learn-to-Play Hockey. Please consider the Intro to Hockey Skating program before registering for Learn-to-Play. Registered participants will be separated into intermediate, and advanced skill groups.

  • Learn-to-Play Hockey requires full hockey equipment. Full gear rental is available from the Mid-Missouri Tigers Youth Hockey Club. A Deposit fee of $150 is due at the time of the Fitting. $100 will be refunded at the end of the LTP session when all borrowed equipment has been returned. If a player is signing up for multiple sessions consecutively then, they may keep the equipment until the end of their last registered session for the same one-time fee. Equipment shall be returned within two weeks following the final lesson.
  • Mid Mo-Tigers will reach out to participants in each session to schedule gear sizing closer to the sessions start dates.
