Get your fitness fix at The LINC! This wellness and recreation center is jointly owned and operated by Lincoln University and JC Parks. Membership is open to all Lincoln students and the community.

From exercise classes to meeting room reservations, The LINC has options for you.

Membership Rates

The LINC membership includes access to fitness center, exercise classes, walking track, and gymnasium.

*Family is defined as at least one parent/legal guiardian and children (up to age 19, if not attending school and age 24 if attending school) living in the same household.

Find more than 16 kinds of fitness classes at The LINC – completely free to members! From Full Body Blast to HIIT IT, every class offers modifications for all fitness levels. And our experienced trainers offer the motivation to help you finish strong!

Fitness Center

Work up to heavier weights or crush your cardio in our state-of-the-art fitness center! Free-weights, weight racks, and machines make this area perfect for strength training and conditioning. Our mats and yoga accessories are great for conquering your cool down, too.

The LINC is a proud provider of TechnoGym machines. Sync them with The LINC MyWellness app and you’ll have the smartest workout around!

Personal Training

Get a personalized experience that’s customized to your ability and needs with a certified personal trainer. *Personal Training is only available for members of The Linc. 

Outdoor Fitness Court

New in 2023, a state-of-the-art outdoor fitness court was installed in front of The Linc. This fitness court is open to the public and conveniently located off of the greenway between The Linc and Dwight T. Reed Stadium. This equipment by MoveStrong blends old school calisthenics with modern functional fitness for a space tailored to individual or group workouts of all abilities.

Policies and Procedures

Please review our policies and procedures before you visit. Please call (573) 634-6482 if you have any questions.

General Rules
  • All members and guests must check in at the desk.
  • Sharing I.D. cards or passes for access into the fitness center is not allowed.
  • Members 14 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a member 16 years or older. Youth ages 15 or older may use the facility without adult supervision, unless posted otherwise. 
  • A medical check-up and approval by your personal physician before participation in any physical activity is recommended.
  • Direct supervision of guests is not provided.  Exercise at your own risk.
  • Proper attire is required. Shirts and close toed gym shoes only (no street shoes). Offensive clothing is not permitted.
  • This facility is smoke-free, drug-free and weapons-free.
  • Act in a safe, responsible manner at all times.
  • Be respectful toward staff, other guests and the facility.
  • Be respectful of others’ belongings – if it’s not yours leave it alone.
  • Vulgar or abusive language, aggressive behavior, (sexual) harassment and physical abuse are not tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion.
  • JC Parks / Lincoln University is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. Please secure personal belongings.
  • Food and drink are to be consumed in the main level commons area only (exception is water in plastic bottles).
  • Gum is prohibited in all areas of the facility.
  • All guests must abide by all state and local laws, policies, ordinances, and regulations.

Those found in violation of the Code of Conduct may be subject to revocation of their privilege to utilize the fitness center/facility and could potentially face disciplinary action by JC Parks and/or Lincoln University.

Fitness Center Policy
  • Fitness center users must be at least 16 years of age.
  • A medical check-up and approval by your personal physician before participation in any physical activity is recommended.
  • Direct supervision of guests is not provided. Exercise at your own risk.
  • Respect other fitness center users (no dropping weights, emotional outbursts, or loud grunting while working out).
  • Limit use of equipment to 30 minutes when others are waiting.
  • Machines must be wiped down after each use.
  • Return weights and plates to respective racks when you complete your workout.
  • Users unfamiliar with the operation of the exercise equipment should seek assistance from the fitness attendant on duty.
  • Report any injury, broken or damaged equipment to the fitness attendant.
  • Improper use of equipment causing damage or vandalism to any of the equipment will result in financial restitution for repair or replacement.
Facility Rental Guidelines
  • General
    1. Renters are required to observe all applicable policies of JC Parks, Lincoln University, and all local, state, and federal laws.
    2. JC Parks and Lincoln University are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property incurred by facility users.
  • Reservations: rental approval is based on facility availability and approval by JC Parks and Lincoln University.
  • Limitations: programs and events of JC Parks and Lincoln University have priority in scheduling at the Linc. Both parties reserve the right to cancel other usages when the facility is needed for either party’s programming.
  • Contract: rentals must be confirmed with a written contract or approved facility rental application, signed by facility staff, and appropriate fees paid.
  • Damage/labor beyond deposit: renter assumes full financial responsibility for damages/unsatisfactory housekeeping caused by negligence of the renter or its participants.
  • Admission fees: renter shall not collect fees on facility property unless written approval has been granted by authorized Linc representatives.
  • Staffing: all rentals will be negotiated by JC Parks and Lincoln University to determine extent of personnel required to safeguard interest of all parties involved. Renter will be financially responsible for supplementary staffing costs.
  • Conflicts and exclusions
    1. JC Parks and Lincoln University reserve the right to refuse or cancel any rental request should the event present a conflict with the mission of either organization.
    2. JC Parks and Lincoln University reserve the right to revoke a rental request if it is determined the rental has potential to be detrimental to the well-being of the facility, staff, or community.
