We’ve been working on something new, and it’s officially here: the JC Parks app is now live in the App Store and Google Play. If you’ve ever tried registering for a program on your phone, searching for pool hours while sitting in the parking lot, or wondering whether practice is canceled because of weather… this one’s for you.

Why We Built It

We’ve heard you: registering for programs from your smartphone hasn’t always been the easiest. We’ve been searching for a solution to that, while also looking for a way to put the information you want to see at your fingertips – upcoming events, program registration deadlines, and weather alerts that might cancel a game or reschedule a tournament.

Enter: the JC Parks App. Developed by our staff and leveraging our registration software, WebTrac, we’ve set up an easy-to-navigate digital version of our Spring and Summer program guide chuck-full of the things you’re looking for. Registering for summer day camps? Just tap “Youth Day Camps” and pick your favorite. Signing up your team for slow-pitch softball? We’re there in a tap or two.

With “Single Sign On” you just log into your WebTrac account once, and the items you add to your cart or save for later will be ready again for you the next time you open the app. If we’ve linked a page on our website, or on any other website (say, the Capital Region Amphitheater’s upcoming shows, for example) each link will open IN the app – you don’t have to leave and come back or login and logout to find what you’re looking for.

What You Can Do in the App

The short answer? A lot. With the JC Parks app, you can:

  • Register for programs

  • Browse classes and activities

  • Check your registration calendar

  • View current enrollments

  • Manage your WebTrac account information

  • Make payments easily

  • Reserve facilities

  • View event listings and schedules

  • Get information about our pools, ice arena, parks, and amenities

  • Receive real-time notifications and updates

Instead of opening a browser window and navigating the mobile version of our registration site, everything lives in one clean, user-friendly space. If you’ve used WebTrac on your phone before, you’ll immediately notice how much smoother this feels.

How to Register for Programs

If you already have a WebTrac account, you’re ready to go.

  1. Download and open the JC Parks app.
  2. Login to WebTrac: on the homescreen tap “Login” at the top right OR you can click around to visit our programs — if you hit a link that requires you to log in, you’ll be prompted to do so. Simply enter your username and password. Don’t have an account? Locked out? Create your user account or update your password easily right in the app!
  3. Register. Tap around the app to add items to your “cart” – once you’re ready you can “check out” and BOOM, you’re in.
  4. Make payments, see current enrollments, and more. Tap the orange “My Account” button from any page to access your enrollments, receipts, activity calendar and more.

That’s it. You’ll stay within the app the entire time.

Once logged in, you can:

  • Register for programs

  • Add items to your cart

  • Make payments

  • View your household account details

  • Check what you’re already enrolled in

We’ve worked hard to make this process simple and straightforward. If something feels confusing or doesn’t work the way you expect, we want to know. This is brand new, and we welcome feedback as we continue improving it.

Let’s Talk About Notifications

One of the features we’re most excited about is push notifications.

This is our first comprehensive effort to communicate directly through an app, and it opens up a lot of possibilities. We can now send notifications about:

  • Weather cancellations

  • Program reminders

  • Registration deadlines

  • Event announcements

  • Facility closures or schedule changes

Users can customize notification preferences, so you’re not getting alerts you don’t care about. We hope this helps you know when a rainstorm has closed the pool or cancelled lessons, if there’s an activity at the Linc that may impact the track’s hours, or reschedule dates/times for games that were rained out.

For parents especially, we know how valuable quick updates can be. For adults in programs, it means fewer surprises. For residents who just want to stay in the loop, it’s an easy way to stay connected.
